Curriculum Description

The Pre-Social Work Certificate provides students with foundational knowledge and an ethical framework to begin their journey in the social work field. This program prepares students for roles in healthcare, education, child welfare, mental health, and community advocacy while also positioning them for further education.

By starting at Forsyth Tech, students gain access to small class sizes, personalized support, and cost-effective education. The courses of this certificate are designed to transfer into a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program.

Career Possibilities (Before Completing a BSW): Social Work Assistant, Residential Counselor

This stackable certificate allows students to build their credentials while preparing for work in diverse settings. Graduates can further their careers by pursuing the AAS degree in Social and Human Services or the AAS degree in Social and Human Services / BSW Transfer.
